Ziegert Immobilienconsulting – your partner for freehold apartments in Berlin-Reinickendorf
Reinickendorf is the northernmost district of the old West Berlin. It is made up of ten sub districts, each of which has its own character. Generally, however, it can be said that there are many woods and stretches of water in the district and that most of the properties are detached houses. In Hermsdorf and Frohnau in particular there are spacious villa quarters and in parts of Lübars, life has a rural feel. The waterside locations along the Havel and on the Tegeler See in Konradshöhe, Heiligensee and Tegel are particularly beautiful.
Reinickendorf – middle class, green, traditional
Reinickendorf was first mentioned in documents in 1345. The village was connected to Berlin by rail during the course of industrialisation from the mid 19th Century. The district was incorporated in 1920. Today, Reinickendorf offers many popular excursions for stressed Berliners. Boat rides on the two large lakes and walks along the Greenwich Promenade on the Tegeler See are popular. Tegel also has something special to offer: The Alte Waldschänke in Tegel is Berlin’s oldest inn and, at more than 900 years, ‘Dicke Marie’ is the city’s oldest tree. Generally, Reinickendorf is a middle class district where peace and the beauty of nature are enjoyed.
Your freehold apartment in Berlin-Reinickendorf – life in the (soon to be) peaceful northwest of the capital
Since the 1970s there has been good reason why one might not want to move to Reinickendorf: the transformation of Tegel Airport into what was to become the most important airport in West Berlin disturbed the peace in the northwest considerably. The opening of BBI airport at Schönefeld, to the southeast of the city, will, however, bring peace back to Reinickendorf from next year. The last aircraft will take off from Tegel on 2nd June 2012. Residents are looking forward to being able to enjoy the glorious nature of their district in peace once more. A golden future awaits Reinickendorf.
